A runny nose, sneezing, and itchy eyes are caused by both a cold and allergies, but only colds are accompanied by general body aches. (One exception: A kid can experience chest pain from coughing excessively because of allergies or a cold.) Has your kid:

Complained of headaches, leg pain, or all-over body pain.

b)

Solely been sneezing, coughing, or suffering from a runny nose or watery eyes--and hasn't said anything about pain.
